PropInsights
Making useful property intelligence accessible to independent investors.
PropInsights is a real estate data product that turns fragmented public records into investor-focused property lists, maps, and downloadable datasets. I am building the product end to end—from data acquisition and cloud pipelines to the interface and product strategy.
01 / The Challenge
Property data is spread across county systems, uses inconsistent schemas, and is often packaged for enterprise buyers rather than individual investors.
Large query results need to remain usable in an interactive map and data grid without running into application timeouts or overwhelming the browser.
As a solo builder, product choices, data quality, cloud cost, and user experience all have to be considered together.

02 / The Approach
- Designed a layered data model in BigQuery that separates raw source records, normalized property data, and investor-focused derived datasets.
- Built ingestion and processing workflows around Python, Cloud Run Functions, Cloud Build, and Google Cloud Workflows.
- Created an application experience combining filters, a clustered property map, a server-paged table, and exports for large result sets.
- Staged large query results in Parquet so map, filtering, pagination, and downloads can work from one reusable result.
03 / The Impact
- Established a working product foundation for absentee owners, out-of-state owners, splittable parcels, and future property intelligence datasets.
- Moved expensive operations out of short-running requests and into background preparation workflows.
- Created a platform that can grow county by county while preserving a consistent investor-facing schema.
